With Overstock’s Android app, we put the power in the hands of the customer. We have used this platform to introduce the first iteration of our unique visual search option, which allows users to upload a picture of an item to initiate a search for the product within our catalog. The search results can be modified to return options of similar products, styles, colors, or patterns, providing the flexibility and customization customers seek.
The app is also seamlessly integrated with Android Pay, allowing customers with enabled devices the freedom to easily and securely purchase products using the technology. We understand that our consumers gain valuable insight into our products through actual user reviews, and we’ve taken that a step further with the option for previous purchasers to upload user generated images alongside their product review. This gives other users the advantage of seeing the product in a variety of real-world environments to capture the essence of its value.
Our revamped List feature provides consumers with the option of creating and curating lists filled with like products into categories to save them for later. This function is highly beneficial for our customers who are looking to find products with similar design, style, materials, intended use, or any other common characteristics they can imagine. Finally, in our continuing quest to give our consumers the best value possible, we’ve enhanced our flash deals experience so users can easily swipe through multiple promotions to find the one that fits their needs.
