The website's primary audience includes library professionals throughout the state of Maryland, as well as library patrons seeking access to specialized research databases. The new website at www.slrc.info consolidates all Maryland State Library Resource Center (SLRC) services into a single hub, replacing the need for multiple websites and aligning with the SLRC strategic plan to increase awareness of its services among statewide library professionals. The design prioritizes intuitive navigation, minimizing Maryland-specific library jargon to make it easier for all users to find what they need, while gradually updating service names to reflect SLRC branding. Efforts to declutter have included auditing outdated content and reducing duplicate information by directing users to Prattlibrary.org when applicable. Modernized for contemporary use, the new site eliminates the restrictive frame design of the previous version, offering a responsive layout that functions seamlessly across phones, tablets, and widescreen monitors.
