The Worcester State University responsive website was designed with the primary goals of improving WSU’s reputation for academic excellence among prospective students, portraying Worcester State as a destination university, and enhancing the quality of our undergraduate and graduate applicants. It is designed to be intuitive, visually appealing, informative, engaging, and interactive on all devices. Our secondary goal was to elevate the design, functionality, and messaging in the four most visited areas: academics, admissions, continuing education, and Graduate School. The site features degree finders for undergraduate programs, graduate programs, and each academic discipline. The architecture is intuitive so that mobile users can easily find information they seek. The site design includes customized “widgets” that allow the display information in “scannable” formats. We simplified page content to present WSU uniformly and with a friendly tone. The home page is designed to allow us to display content that is dynamic, timely, and seasonal for external visitors.
