Freedom from Hunger works with local partners in some of the world’s poorest countries to equip women with tools to grow their businesses, save money, and protect their children from deadly diseases. Our goal was to illustrate this model in a highly interactive way so that users could understand the impact of their support and ultimately donate.
Pairing animated iconography and concise copy we tell the stories of three real women who have benefited from their programs.
By clicking on a dollar amount, a user can calculate the reach of his or her gift. This allows Freedom from Hunger to show a diverse giving audience that even a small amount can make a difference – and it also provides evidence that upgrading one’s gift can make an even bigger impact.
Frame by frame, users see that their donations can help a woman purchase an animal or food item, which can then be used to create savings, invest in healthcare and education, and expand a business. At the end, the user can easily “finalize” their gift when a donation form animates in, pre-populated with the initial dollar amount selected. If they’re not sold, they can also explore another gift amount.
