The Frazer Center started as a nonprofit in Atlanta to serve children and adults with developmental disabilities. A school was created for children of all abilities from infant to Pre-K which includes 25-30% of students with special needs. Along with the school, they provide adult programming consisting of job training, supported employment, education, and recreation to allow adults with developmental disabilities to live a more independent life.
The Cator Woolford Gardens is the Frazer Center’s social enterprise. The gardens of the Woolford Estate are rented out for events such as weddings, fundraisers, and film shoots. The proceeds from the event rentals flow to support the Frazer Center. The gardens had recently been renovated and the design microsite was intended to serve as a reintroduction of the venue.
The target audience consisted primarily of wedding clients looking for a garden venue and likely attracted by the added benefit of supporting a good cause as well wedding-related vendors. The audience also consists of a small amount of location scouts and movie studios.
The primary goal of this microsite design was to increase site visits and bookings and ultimately increase revenue from event rentals. Supporting goals included raising awareness of The Cator Woolford Gardens as a prime location for the events and activities of their target audiences (particularly in the smaller audience within the film industry) and increasing usability through the construction of clear pathways for each audiences to find relevant information.
