Working closely with the National Park Service (NPS), Alexander & Tom Digital (A+T) was tasked with the creation of a web-based multimedia education series for Shenandoah National Park. Goals for the project include educating users on the park’s origins and creation, while providing an engaging user-experience for audiences of all ages.
A+T developed educational lesson plans which include interactive timelines, videos, digital maps with clickable land tracts, a historical match game and a series of educational videos. All elements of the site were developed to meet applicable “Section 508 compliance” standards (ie. Closed captioning for videos), which enabled all audiences to effectively use the website’s educational materials.
