Capital One went through an exciting creative refresh of their consumer brand in the Autumn of 2018. With this new creative look and feel about to launch, the client asked us to refresh their careers site to bring to life the new brand whilst showing off the great culture and opportunities available at Capital One. Our goal was to ensure that the new website is discoverable and therefore we see an increase in organic traffic. Another goal was to make sure that the website sets Capital One apart from other financial services companies, we want candidates to land on the website and be surprised by the content that they see.
We focused on creating a simple and welcoming candidate experience – with an easy search function, enhanced SEO for greater findability and the opportunity to launch add-on products like ‘advanced job descriptions’ to meet specific hiring objectives. We designed a simple yet beautifully animated website that started to bring to life the Capital One culture in a simple way as per their new brand which was focused on ‘Simplicity’, whilst making sure the website set Capital One apart from competitors. We included clever features like the LinkedIn search function, job alerts and also 6 advanced job descriptions.
The significant improvements we made to Capital One’s careers site have translated into tangible results. We saw a 280% increase in organic users visiting the site, a 340% increase in sessions and 6482 apply clicks (compared to 1442 previously).
