About the Entry

Working collaboratively with the Baltimore County Office of Tourism and Promotion, the Baltimore County Office of Information Technology designed and developed the Enjoy Baltimore County tourism website. The new site is a practical tool to build stronger partnerships with the business community, foster tourism activity within the community, and encourage local spending at Baltimore County businesses.

The site allows business owners to create an account and generate online listings for restaurants, hotels, attractions and events in Baltimore County. Local businesses own their content, and thus are able to add, remove or update listings at any time. The Baltimore County Office of Tourism and Promotion reviews all requests through a content management system before publishing them to the live site.

Site visitors are able to search listings and filter results based on features or amenities (such as style of cuisine or type of event) and add their favorite listings to a downloadable itinerary. Listings are based on geographic proximity, allowing site users not only to search by address, city or ZIP code, but to locate nearby businesses as well.
