About the Entry

The Baylor Business Review (BBR) is the student and alumni magazine of Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business and the first magazine app published by Baylor University. Recognizing the shift to digital publishing, the team re-conceptualized the print magazine and designed it specifically for an iPad experience. Each themed magazine issue offers free access to content, which includes coverage of current business trends, research and executive profiles. This dynamic app is anything but a static PDF-version of a magazine, which many other universities publish as a digital solution. The BBR app provides readers with an enhanced experience through videos; audio podcasts; interactive features such as flip pages, slideshows and hot spots; and additional photos and content not published in the print magazine. New BBR issues are released twice each year (spring and fall), and past issues are archived within the app. The BBR app was ranked No. 65 out of all free business iPad apps in the U.S. on the iTunes App Store shortly after its release in May 2012 and has been downloaded in 62 different countries. The BBR app has been recognized within the academic community as well; it was featured in the November/December 2012 issue of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business’ (AACSB) magazine, BizEd, as well as featured in Today's Campus digital magazine, which covers the people, companies and campuses that are redefining best business practices in higher education.
