THE BRIEF
To get people in store to buy the new limited edition burgers from around the world and create some hype and social talkability around them.
THE IDEA
Let your taste buds travel the world with McDonald’s and earn stamps in your virtual passport.
We also wanted to create some excitement around the arrivals of the burgers by allowing people to try and guess which part of the world the next burger would come from.
HOW IT WORKS
We got people to take to Facebook, Twitter and our Mobi site, and tell us where in the world they think the next burger would be coming from. Once the next burger had arrived, they would receive an SMS letting them know if they were correct or not as well as letting them know what the new burger is.
They were also driven in store from social media, to purchase each new burger. Each purchase contained a code (boarding pass code) on the till slip. By entering the code on Facebook or the Mobi site, they would be entered into a competition to win a trip around South Africa.
